What’s better than a customised product?

There’s something a little bit different on today’s menu: Modification and Customisation.

No, not for the home, or a car – we’re talking about mobility equipment…because who says you need to go for the regular option (not us)!

This may come as a bit of a surprise (as there aren’t many places that offer this service), but as you’ve probably guessed, the team at RKMRS likes to do things a little differently.

We actually have a specific workshop separate to our showroom that specialises in services and modifications/customisation.

You’ll find our experienced technicians working away there to tailor products to suit individual needs and give you even more freedom.

Why modify or customise?

1.  Our professional customisations and modifications involve practical solutions to make life easier
2. We also offer full cosmetic upgrades, so your mobility device reflects your personality (why not?)!
3. We have options that suit all age ranges, including some pretty cool custom modifications for our younger clients too; giving them more ownership and personalisation of their equipment
4. This can be for mobility equipment, seatings or various accessories – the options are (almost) endless!

What’s involved in the process?

1. Come in to the RKMRS showroom in Rockingham, or give us a call (or email) to discuss options
2.  Once we have a clear understanding of what you need, we can come back to you with an estimate and timeframe for completion
3.  Whether it’s something basic, or a little more elaborate – we’re up to the task!

Some examples of special modification types

Custom Wedge Ramps

1. Rubber threshold RAMPS can be custom-made when ordered from RKMRS
2.  They can have a straight edge (so they can be placed alongside a wall), or a winged edge (for a side approach)
3. They provide great grip and can be easily moulded in different sizes and shapes!

Custom Power Wheelchairs

1. For power wheelchairs, we offer customisation options for the motors, wheels, controller and batteries
2.  The seating system can also be modified to suit different postures, as well as adjustable sitting positions. We can customise the tilt and recline functions, leg rests, headrests and backrests too – woohoo!

Controls & Accessories

We have control options for power wheelchairs, and accessory options like USB charger, tables, cup/mobile phone holders, bag hooks and more
