  4. An in-home or in-store service and repair appointment can be scheduled at a time that suits you

What might a service involve?

This depends on the type of equipment, and if it’s being serviced for a specific reason.

A general service will include a comprehensive safety check, and may also include “where relevant” things like a pressure clean and dry, fixing

or replacing spokes, wheel/castor alignment, inspecting frames for cracks, tightening bolts and screws and more!

RKMRS tip of the week

Weather can be unpredictable, and a rain shower or storm may start when you’re already out.

Although your electric mobility aids should be able to withstand a little bit of water exposure, they need to be protected from prolonged water exposure.

Otherwise, you can expect some not-so-nice rust (and even possible malfunction and other damage).

Our recommendations:

  • Where possible, try to find shelter until the rain passes
  • Thoroughly dry your power equipment with a towel as soon as you can (making sure all surfaces are dry) and store in a dry place when not in use

  • After water exposure, check the operation and brakes before using again for safety

  • If there are any problems or issues, call us immediately so we can help evaluate the condition of your equipment, and advise if you need a service or repair to get you things back running smoothly

Benefits of choosing an RKMRS service/maintenance:

  • Service and maintenance technicians will make sure your equipment is safe, comfortable and completely functional

  • Regular servicing actually helps reduce the likelihood of major, more costly repairs down the track, saving you $$$ in the long-term

  • Having a yearly service of your equipment helps keep it in tip top shape! Don’t worry about remembering when your next service is due, we’ll keep rack and send you a reminder!

  • We can also repair healthcare equipment and have spare replacement parts available too (like new batteries). We’ve even helped with lost/damaged scooter keys that need to be replaced, ASAP!

Let us know what you need and we’ll be happy to assist you.

Wishing you well. Take care,

The RKMRS Team
